breaking the hush

prayers and comments

This is the place where you, our readers, can submit comments, questions, and prayer requests. I will answer the questions that I can. It will take some time for me to get the questions to Shawn and wait for his response. We will be as prompt as we can.

This is where I will post prayer requests and updates for Shawn. I will keep this page up to date with things going on, appeals, finances, etc.

This is the place where you can leave your prayer requests. If you are bound in bondage, a family member, or a friend who is bound and needs to be free, if you are hurting, or simply if you just need someone to agree with you in prayer. This is the place you can do that. I will make sure that Shawn gets every prayer request that comes through this site.

Thank you,

Andrea

Shawn,

The Lord has brought you to my mind the past several days and I pray that God is continuing to strengthen you where you are and preparing you for all that the Lord will continue to do through you!  I told Andrea years ago the relationship the two of you have reminds me of Benjamin and Joseph!!  I'm praying all that the enemy meant for evil to destroy you will one day lead you to a place of restoration an honor to touch the hearts of others as they hear of all the work the Lord has done in your life. As you stay continually surrendered at HIS feet, remember all of us at one point or another are broken and bruised from iniquity in our own lives or the lives of those around us.  The only survivors and overcomers are those whom have been chosen by HIM for a purpose greater than our own!! Love you brother!

Hey Shawn! Been thinking about you (remembering the pranks I'd pull on you). I read thru these comments. The fact that I support you goes without saying. I am thankful for the true person you are! One of the "elite" men I chose to be groomsmen in my wedding in fact. Speaking of, I'm now the Assoc. Pastor in the church we got married in. Crazy! Will have to tell you the story sometime. When can we expect this book of yours? I know I will read thru in one sitting! I will have so many questions for you that I'm not sure you'll have time to answer all of them. Looking forward to the miraculous! Saw the color 'gold' in my spirit while reading portions of your last blog. Random, I know. Hope to see you soon my friend!

Hey Guys,

I wanted to thank Andrea for her posting on directing me to this site. This is the first time I've seen/heard about any of your journey. Dallas news doesn't tend to hit Ohio. Anyhow, I just wanted to thank you for your openess and know that you will be in our prayers going forward. I can't even begin to imagine the journey you are on but I know there is great comfort in know you're not alone. I too pray that what has been so taboo for so long in the church will hae the stigma broken so others can come to freedom. In our time of pastoring I have taken some flack over dealing with some of these issues very honestly from the pulpit but I refuse to leave it in the dark and let the enemy have free reign. Your story is an encouragement and motivation to me. Thank you. We love you and are praying for you.

Hey Shawn! I heard your story through Andrea, and my heart broke. You have been in my prayers ever since. I still remember getting to know you in Russia. You always had a smile for anyone who needed it. Praying that your story will indeed break the hush. God bless! :)

Dear sweet friend, I'm not quite sure what to say. I only wish I could hug your neck. I've learned that sometimes words just don't say what your heart feels. I think of you often. I am so proud of you. It takes real guts to be so open. Praying for you and love you so much!

Shawn, I cant express to you how reading your story and that with everything you have been through allow me to be free in my spirit as well. To walk with my head up again. God truly spoke to me through this. Being brought up in a very strong christian family and faith I also was afraid to seek help for my own sins that I struggle with due to the fear of rejection. Even when we attend the same university i felt so alone due to the fact i was struggling but was to ashame to ask for the help my soul needed. I love God with all my heart but  yet i struggle with this sins that was taught to me that where so wrong. My walk with God at the time was so restricted because i could not understand God grace because the church was against speaking about these struggles that i felt it was unforgiveable . So  I didnt walk in true freedom. I took god to truly take everything and everyone i knew away from me to get the meaning of what his love and grace and mercy is. I also hear the word John 3:16 a familar verse we all know that word since we where babies if we where brought up in the church. Simple word that god so love the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever belives in him shall have everlasting life. Key would that touch me was who so ever belives. Not if we walk perfect lifes but just simply just believing in him. Also the word of no sin is greater than the other its all equal. The issue that i was struggling with was only classify by man not god himself. God forgivenss and healing power was just as good for me. Once i got this to i no longer was slient about my struggles and was able to not only get the help i truly needed but i am now able to walk in the freedom and love God truly has for me. Im so glad that you are speaking out and chaning lifes. I truly feel this is what the church and christian as a whole need. We need people who say hey i struggle with this its ok to speak out and get the healing you  need. To be able to walk freely with out feeling unworthy or ashame. To be able to freely come and be open. TO not of afraid of the rejection and shame that man has place upon us. We are all god childern and the only way to walk to in freedom is to be real and break the hush. Shawn I have always love you as my brother in christ and i always willl. You are very dear to me and you are in my prayers and i ask you keep me in your prayers too. Stay strong and let god to contuine to use you.
